James, a native of Alameda County, California, works towards FIERCE Advocates' mission to invest in individual and collective transformation in Contra Costa County. James draws from his experience in both public policy and program management to bring equitable, sustainable change to all California residents. James was formerly a Program Associate at Higher Achievement, an education nonprofit in Washington, D.C., focused on closing the academic, social, and emotional achievement gap experienced by D.C. Metro middle school youth of color. He previously served as a Program Manager for Breathe California Sacramento Region (BCRS) on Our Community CarShare, a pilot project that provides free Electric Vehicles for Sacramento's public housing residents. James loves painting (oil on canvas), exploring the Bay Area's diverse communities, and NYT Sunday crosswords!
